| ANNUAL SCARECROW CONTEST One of the most joyous times for a small country town is Harvest time. To celebrate what is cherished and enjoyed by everyone, Carleton Place holds a Scarecrow contest every year, to be admired along Bridge Street. People around town join in with porch decorations for Harvest. The photos were taken in 1997, and they are just candid shots, half of them taken while a steady rain streamed onto the contestants, and also on the farmers produce, or the festival activities. Everyone had a wonderful time, anyway. These scarecrows are classified as non-commercial share-alike, meaning that anyone may save the images for themselves, but not for profit, just for play. |
