A news journalist/photographer from the Carleton Place Canadian, David Pascal, made this admirable shot when I had settled in Carleton Place. Editor Jeff McGuire and staff were more than supportive of cultural endeavours in our area, Carleton Place, Lanark County, Ontario.

During the many years that I lived in Carleton Place, this small town newspaper has generously supported the arts, never failing to serve residents with the inspiration to grow, and to share, culturally.

I would like to extend my thanks toward editor Jeff McGuire, and to the staff of The Carleton Place Canadian.I was also in amateur theatre (The Mississippi Mudds)and our group received so much support from these wonderful people!

Shown are three of my works made in the early eighties, and I am holding some of the silver pendants that I made in Toronto, though I sold some of them in Carleton Place.

Most of we young artists had an outdoor show on a Bridge St. lawn, which served for an afternoon tea with the IODE. (International Order of the Daughters of the Empire), whom, I think, were British royalists.

I can remember saying to another artist: "We may not belong here, but we are the International Daughters of Revolution"!

A Years Work for A Charitable Endeavour

Although the article speaks for itself, it is only recently that I have found a way to produce a publication that will offer a percentage to my charity (Humanitas). The amount will be a percentage according to the image value in another work. A calendar is not timeless enough.

The colour separations for the arts endeavour were donated by Les Freres Proulx, a prominent photo studio in Ottawa.

There have been many obstacles placed into the path of this project.

Still, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hopefully, I will be able to proudly offer something of value in the year to come.

Note that I was terribly thin when the photo was taken: no matter what, no-one would buy much from me, or hire me for the year, so I vowed to put my hard work to good use.

It occurs to me that there are still some people fighting to prevent goodwill in the world, in their constantly pooey attempt to dampen our cultural accord.
When I sought to work with my endeavour, my photo colour separations for the project had been stolen.Still, there may be a way.

DESCRIPTION	Meeting Ananda Bodhi- Heavenly Enlightenment In the late sixties, a time of spiritual and social revolution,a Western reverend travelled to the east, to study Buddhism. Meeting this enlightened Master in Toronto, in his first Dharma Centre residence, was almost instantly illuminating. The interfaith work of this superbly open-minded leader, first introduced as Ananda Bodhi, is presented with anecdotes derived from a personal and pretty joyous perspective, considering the wide horizons of that wondrous era. Ananda Bodhi founded a meditation centre for both eastern and western studies, The Dharma Centre of Canada. We students were permitted great spiritual freedom, and the enlightening results are also presented personally, and with a lot of warmth and humour, to reflect the legacy of clarity and wisdom that this marvellous teaching has offered to each of us. I loved working with some of my collection of photo images, since I have been a Canadian heritage buff for some time. A few of my images are also from the east of the US. In this work I sought to involve my education in Material Arts, since so much of the sacred earth that preserves records for us gets bound into art or craft.
