I only had a photo of my sketch, since this image was actually stolen from a gallery in Ottawa, so the detail I so love in wildlife art is somewhat lost to the vagaries of older cameras, but I have spent many happy days sketching from life. (Although , if sketching out in the woods, mosquito repellant is a must!)
This sketch led to a larger painting of both Mikweed and Monarch Butterfly.
