"The Saga of the Canoe": Peterborough Canoe Museum visits Carleton Place

canoe sketches

From the early eighties to the nineties, Carleton Place townhall was used more frequently, and citizens visited its heritage halls many times. When the Canadian Canoe Museum exhibit came to town, the result, held as a travelling sample exhibit, was really impressive.
I had no camera at the time, and I sketched details of the canoes' beautiful forms in pencil onto a sketch book, took them home, and raised the colours from memory.
